The character “Kayla Drake” is largely fictitious, but her TV persona, “Ivana Viktimm,” is based on Green Bay, WI UHF horror hostess “Misty Brew” (1981-84), pictured here.
Most of the details I needed to bring Ivana to life – or to Undeath – came from my friend Faye Fisher-Ward, who played Misty while enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (and while I was a student 30 miles south in Appleton, tuning in with my dorm-mates every Friday night for a glimpse of that big-haired, wide-eyed Angel of Death).
