Shortly after its 2008 publication, Planet of the Dates was optioned in Hollywood for production as a feature film. Producers Jason Koornick (Next, adapted from a story by SF master Philip K. Dick) and Michael Henry (acclaimed music documentary Years in Your Ears)—who, Paul notes, “have worked with my two favorite current film actors, Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti, as well as with Nicholas Cage and Jessica Biel”—have adapted the novel into a feature-length screenplay and are shopping it around for production as a theatrical release.
